PH.D. | PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATE (SUPERVISED PRACTICE)
Iguaraya is registered as a Psychological Associate (Supervised Practice) with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She has a rich foundation of training and experience with a Doctorate in Human Sciences from La Universidad del Zulia and a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from California State University. Iguaraya’s therapeutic work is informed by a range of evidence-based approaches—including Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred Therapy, Existential Therapy, and Mindfulness-based practices—tailored to each client’s needs. She also incorporates somatic and integrative perspectives. Beyond clinical work, she has contributed to the field through academic teaching, clinical supervision, and research publications.
With over 35 years of experience providing psychological services across national and international settings, she has had the privilege of supporting individuals through a wide range of psychological challenges and brings a deep respect for the uniqueness of each person’s story and a strong commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental environment where clients feel heard and empowered. Her practice addresses concerns such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, interpersonal difficulties, trauma, grief, burnout, chronic illness, and major life transitions. Iguaraya works with adults from diverse sociocultural backgrounds and prioritizes inclusivity and cultural sensitivity in her approach.
